Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Khalaf Abdul Karim, announced the start of preparing a mechanism to remove foreign forces from Iraq.
Khalaf said in a press statement, “The work of the international coalition will be limited to advice, armament and training,” noting that “the Iraqi government restricted the movement of the international coalition, by land and air.”

He indicated that “the mechanism prepared by the government includes combat forces and air support issues,” noting that “issues of equipment, armament and logistical support remain.”

The House of Representatives voted in an extraordinary session yesterday on a parliamentary decision in the presence of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to compel the Iraqi government to preserve the sovereignty of Iraq by canceling the request for assistance submitted by it to the international coalition to fight ISIS so as to end military operations and achieve victory and liberation and the commitment of the Iraqi government to end the presence of any forces Foreigner in Iraqi territory and prevent her from using the Iraqi land, water and air for any reason.

The parliamentary decision also stipulated that “the Iraqi government is committed to confining arms to the state and urgently going to the United Nations and the International Security Council and filing a complaint against the United States; The results within 7 days from the date of this decision. ”

In response to the parliament’s decision, US President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened to impose sanctions on Iraq.

“We have an air base there that is exceptionally expensive,” Bill Trump told reporters on the presidential plane. “It took billions of dollars to build it long before I came, and we will not leave unless they pay us their costs.”

Trump said that if Iraq demands the departure of US forces and this is not done on a friendly basis, “we will impose sanctions on them that they have never seen before, and Iran’s sanctions will be a small thing next to them.”
