Iraq back on its request to use oil as a weapon against Washington and Tel Aviv
Demanded Iraq’s permanent representative to the Arab League, using oil as a weapon to pressure the United States and other countries to intervene to stop the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, but retracted his comments later.
Qais al-Azzawi said at a news conference in Cairo that ‘Iraq will call before the ministerial meeting to use oil as a weapon in order to form a real pressure on the United States of America and to stand with Israel (from other countries).’
He added that the ‘economic weapon is the strongest that is activated to confirm stand with the Palestinian people in the absence of a military force that can stand in the face of Israel at the moment. ‘
Later, drop-Azzawi in a statement for his remarks, saying that Iraq will not be a concrete proposal on the Arab League with regard to the crisis in Gaza.
