The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday that claims by some media outlets regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz were untrue, explaining that Friday’s meeting in Switzerland had been postponed to another day.
The ministry stated in press statements that “since the signing of the memorandum of understanding was done electronically, holding the Switzerland meeting is no longer urgent.”
She added, “We plan to hold a meeting for negotiations in the coming days,” confirming that “Friday’s meeting in Switzerland has been postponed to another day.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry added that “consultations are currently underway through intermediaries to begin the next phase of negotiations to reach a final agreement.”
She noted that “the start of negotiations for the final agreement is conditional on the implementation of the provisions of clauses 1, 4, 5, 10 and 11 of the memorandum of understanding.”
She concluded by saying, “Claims made by some media outlets regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz are unfounded.”
