The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced, on Saturday, an agreement to continue talks with the United States in Oman next week.
The ministry said in a statement received by Al-Maalomah Agency, a copy of which was received by Al-Maalomah Agency, that “the indirect talks between Iran and the United States of America regarding the lifting of sanctions and the nuclear file have ended a short while ago.”
It added, “These talks were mediated by Oman, where Abbas Araqchi, Iranian Foreign Minister, and Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump’s Special Representative for the Middle East, exchanged the positions of their governments on issues related to Iran’s peaceful nuclear program and the lifting of illegal sanctions imposed on it, through the Omani Foreign Minister, in a constructive atmosphere based on mutual respect.”
It indicated that “the two sides agreed to continue these talks next week.”
It explained that “the heads of the Iranian and US delegations exchanged words for several minutes in the presence of the Omani Foreign Minister, before leaving the talks venue.”
