Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei confirmed on Tuesday that the Iranian delegation is prepared to stay in Geneva for several days or even weeks to reach a final agreement with the United States on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.
“Time is a crucial factor for us, and the current stage is sensitive and critical,” Baqai told Press TV. “As Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi always says, we are prepared to stay longer, for several days or even weeks, to reach a final agreement.”
Baqaei also stated that “lifting the sanctions is Tehran’s top priority in the nuclear negotiations,” noting that “his country is participating in the negotiations seriously and in good faith and hopes to see the same level of commitment from the American delegation.”
Baghaei added that “lifting the sanctions is the top priority in the nuclear negotiations.”
He noted that “Iran is participating in the nuclear negotiations in good faith and seriousness, and we hope to see the same level of seriousness and good faith from the American delegation.”
Media reports on Tuesday indicated that the second round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States regarding Iran’s nuclear program had begun in Geneva.
Iran’s state broadcaster said: “Negotiations between Iran and the United States began with an exchange of messages, mediated by the Sultanate of Oman.”
According to Tasnim News Agency, Tehran insists on the complete lifting of sanctions and wants to discuss confidence-building measures regarding the Iranian nuclear issue.
