He threatened the deputy commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, on Wednesday, to close the strategic Strait of Hormuz to the United States and its allies in case represented any threat to the Islamic Republic,
Gen. Hossein Salami said in a press statement, said that “Iranian forces will not allow the passage of any US or other ships belonging to countries allied to Washington through the Strait of Hormuz if the Islamic Republic came under any threat.”
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important waterways in the world and most of the movement of ships, is located in the Arabian Gulf region dividing line between the Arabian Gulf on the one hand and the waters of the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean on the other.
The strait in the eyes of international law, part of the high seas, and each of the ships and the right to freedom of traffic as long as it does not harm the integrity of the coastal States or affect the order or security.
