The commander-in-chief of the Iranian army, Major General Amir Hatami, announced on Sunday that a financial reward of $30,000 has been allocated to anyone who manages to capture or kill an American soldier.
Hatami said during the celebration of Journalist Day, according to the Iranian news agency Fars, that any Iranian soldier who, with the participation of the people, manages to capture or kill an “aggressor American soldier” will receive a reward of $30,000.
The announcement comes at a time of escalating military tensions between Iran and the United States. While US President Donald Trump declared that the Strait of Hormuz is under Washington’s complete control, the Iranian Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters responded last Thursday that the strait remains under Iranian control.
