VIENNA (Reuters) – Diplomatic sources said on Thursday that Iran has installed more centrifuges to enrich uranium at a facility fortified underground, which could pave the way for a significant expansion in the work the West fears to be its end goal to build nuclear bombs.
Iran denies allegations that it is seeking to build nuclear weapons. But its refusal to curb its uranium enrichment program led to the imposition of the West for strict sanctions and sparked speculation the possibility of attacking Israel for its nuclear sites.
In a possible sign of further Iranian defiance in the face of this Aldaut several sources said Iran has installed more centrifuges at the Fordo facility in the depths of the mountain to protect it from any possible attack.
He said one of the sources to Iran may have had installed hundreds of these devices.
In another development likely to raise alarm in the West, the sources said satellite images show that Iran covered building in a military asked UN inspectors to visit a lid-like tent.
Western diplomats said they believed that Iran’s Parchin site cleaned to remove any evidence of any illicit nuclear activities in the place where inspectors suspect the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN that it had conducted experiments of a military nature.
