On Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian instructed the Ministry of Communications to restore the global internet to its state before the outbreak of protests and security tensions last January.
The decision comes after a period of widespread restrictions on access to the international network that lasted for about 87 days, according to Iranian media reports.
For its part, the “International Iran” website said that the decision came after government data indicated that about 70% of citizens rejected the continuation of the internet blackout, in addition to recording significant economic losses in the business sector exceeding two billion dollars.
