Iranian television announced on Thursday that the owners and captains of 30 ships are coordinating with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s naval force to cross the Strait of Hormuz, amid escalating tensions in the region.
Iranian television reported that “the owners and captains of 30 ships have been coordinating with the Revolutionary Guard’s naval force to cross the Strait of Hormuz since last night until now,” indicating that “it is very likely that the 30 ships will cross the strait by this evening in coordination with the Revolutionary Guard’s naval force.”
He added that “the naval forces of the Iranian army and the Revolutionary Guard are on high alert to secure all islands and coasts,” noting that “the naval forces of the Revolutionary Guard have announced their readiness for the necessary cooperation with any country that wishes to have its ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz.”
This comes amid escalating tensions in the Gulf region, coinciding with ongoing military and naval measures related to the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the most vital waterways for the transport of oil and energy in the world.
