The International Atomic Energy Agency said that Iran has “only weeks, not months” to obtain enough enriched uranium to develop a nuclear bomb.
The German news agency Deutsche Welle quoted the agency’s director general, Rafael Grossi, as saying, “Although uranium enrichment to levels close to weapons-grade levels constitutes a cause for concern, it is not possible to reach a direct conclusion that Iran now possesses a nuclear weapon.” .
He explained that “an effective nuclear warhead requires many other things independent of the production of fissile material,” noting that “the International Atomic Energy Agency has not obtained the level it believes it needs in Iran, which he said increases speculation about Tehran’s nuclear program.”
He added: “I have repeatedly told my Iranian counterparts… that this activity is astonishing and is compounded by the fact that we are not getting the necessary degree of access and visibility that I believe is necessary.”
“When you put it all together, of course you end up with a lot of question marks,” he continued.
