International anticipation: Putin and Trump in contact to resolve Ukraine issue

Shafaq News/ Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Monday that preparations are underway for a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, scheduled for Tuesday.
Asked about the possibility of a call between the two leaders, Peskov said in press statements: “Yes, it is true. Preparations are underway for this conversation to take place tomorrow.” However, he declined to disclose details of the call’s agenda, stressing that “the content of the talks between the two presidents is not subject to prior discussion.”
Earlier, media outlets quoted the US President as saying he intended to hold a phone call with Putin on Tuesday, March 18, noting that he would discuss the issue of territory and control of nuclear plants in Ukraine. He added, “Something regarding Russia and Ukraine may be announced tomorrow.”
