An informed source revealed on Sunday that political forces are moving towards reactivating the positions of the two vice presidents of the republic, within the understandings of the state administration coalition for the next period.
The source told Shafaq News Agency that the political forces reached a preliminary agreement to name the leader of the Progress Party, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Faleh al-Fayyad, as vice presidents of the republic.
He added that these positions will be treated in terms of financial entitlements in the same way as the positions of deputy prime ministers, so that they are limited to nominal salaries, without office allocations or the creation of new job grades.
According to the source, the issue of reactivating the two positions has occupied a large part of the discussions and meetings of the political forces, whether in bilateral meetings or official meetings, stressing that it represents one of the issues on the agenda of the political movement during the next stage.
Last Thursday, the House of Representatives voted on three deputy prime ministers, including Ali al-Zidi, and 11 ministries, some of which were vacant and some newly created, with the exception of the Ministry of Migration and Displacement.
