Today, Tuesday, the Parliamentary Federal Strategic Planning and Service Committee clarified the most prominent laws on the agenda of the House of Representatives, after the approval of the draft budget law, while pointing to the role of the government in some important laws.
The deputy head of the committee, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, said in an interview with Al-Information Agency, that “the most important radical laws that existed during the past years have been passed under the dome of parliament,” noting that “the most important laws that we will work on during the coming period are the oil and gas law, the law of the Federation Council.” In addition to what is related to ministries, such as the National Security Agency.
He pointed out, “There are important laws pertaining to the citizen, including retirement, but there are laws such as the civil service, which is considered very important, but the government withdrew it, and it needs to be sent again from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.”
The deputy head of the Planning Committee explained that “important laws are approved within the dome of Parliament with a note sent by the government,” noting that “the most prominent laws will be legislated after the legislative recess of the House of Representatives.”
On Monday, the House of Representatives approved the draft financial budget bill for the next three years, at an estimated amount of 197 trillion dinars (approximately $152 billion), based on oil prices estimated at $70 per barrel.
A member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Omid Muhammad, had confirmed, earlier, that all laws and projects that will be approved in Parliament, after the approval of the financial budget, will affect the segments of Iraqi society.
