In the lead-up to the 2025 meetings... the Coordination Framework towards a new policyShafaq News/ The Coordination Framework will hold its regular meeting next week to discuss issues related to mechanisms for dealing with the rapid developments in the region, in addition to discussing the axes of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s upcoming visit to Tehran at the end of next week.

An informed source told Shafaq News Agency, “The Coordination Framework intended to hold a meeting today to discuss important files related to the security of the country and the region, but the preoccupation of some political leaders with programs specific to their components prevented that, and the meeting is expected to be held next week.”

The source explained that “the meeting will include discussing current issues, most notably how to deal with the changes in regional situations, while adopting a balanced policy of ‘dissociation’ that ensures the continuation of Iraq’s effective role in the stability of the region.”

The source continued, “The topics of the Prime Minister’s visit to Tehran will also be discussed, including the issue of Iranian debts to Iraq as a result of importing gas used to operate power plants, in addition to other security issues related to the region.”

He pointed out that “it is likely that the coordination framework meeting will be followed by another meeting with the State Administration Coalition, with the aim of discussing the results of the framework meeting and evaluating government performance, as well as following up on diplomatic activity and steps to deal with regional security variables.”

It is noteworthy that the Coordination Framework holds periodic meetings to review government performance and follow up on developments in the stage and the latest developments in the region.
