On Friday, Uday Abdul-Hadi, a member of the Coordination Framework, confirmed that the central committee tasked with vetting the names of candidates for the position of the next prime minister has officially begun its work, anticipating that the selections will be finalized soon.
Abdul-Hadi told Al-Maalouma that “the central committee formed by the Coordination Framework forces to vet the candidates’ names has officially commenced its work,” noting that “the number of names is greater than what has been reported in the media, and the committee may submit its final report to the Framework within a short period.”
He added that “the Framework forces are responsible for determining the identity of the candidate for the next prime minister,” emphasizing that “there are a number of criteria that must be met by the candidates, and the committee is responsible for implementing the necessary procedures.” He indicated that “finalizing the names will take some time, but it is not an open-ended process, and we are waiting for the completion of this process, which will mark the beginning of the formation of the next government.”
