Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, discussed, on Saturday, several files with the German company Siemens, including associated gas investment and the opportunities available to develop the electrical energy distribution and transmission sector.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “Al-Sudani received the CEO of Siemens International Energy Company, Christian Bruch, on the sidelines of his participation in the Munich Security Conference 2024.”
The statement added, “During the meeting, the projects undertaken by Siemens in Iraq were reviewed, and ways to speed up work, in addition to reviewing contracts and the progress made in implementing their paragraphs, as well as studying the joint memorandum of understanding between the company and the Ministry of Oil regarding investing in associated gas and developing Iraq’s capabilities in this vital field.” “.
He continued, “The meeting witnessed discussion of the opportunities available to develop the distribution and energy transmission sector within the Iraqi electrical network.”
According to the statement, the Prime Minister pointed out that “it is not possible to bring about the desired development in the electrical network except by developing all its sectors, and efforts and plans must not be limited to developing production alone.”
