The Hebrew newspaper Yediot Aharonot revealed on Friday that Israel and the United States have allocated 390 fighter jets to be ready for any military operation against Iran, noting that a “target bank” has been identified inside Iran in the event of war.
The newspaper quoted security sources as saying that “Tel Aviv and Washington have shared final operational tasks deep inside Iran, and have allocated 390 fighter jets to participate in a possible war against Iran.”
She noted that “the American-Israeli partnership comes in light of the attack on potential Iranian targets within the framework of ongoing coordination between the two sides on various regional tracks.”
The newspaper noted what it described as the priorities of the American-Israeli target bank deep inside Iran in the event of war.
According to the coordination, the first and most urgent goal, according to the newspaper, is to strike all air defense systems and achieve air superiority, whether for the Israelis or the Americans.
Second on the list of priorities is the goal of striking the Revolutionary Guard’s fleet, which threatens to harm American forces.
Sources from the Hebrew newspaper believe that “destroying it will be necessary if the United States wants to neutralize the Iranian threat to close the Strait of Hormuz.”
Israel is expected to focus during a potential war on acting against Iran and its proxies, as well as preparing, should the need arise, to intervene against Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen, according to the newspaper.

For its part, the Hebrew newspaper “Maariv” attributed the division of tasks and objectives in Iran to the Pentagon’s realization that 130 American fighter jets would not be enough to destroy intensive targets deep inside Iran, including air defense bases, missile bases, mobile missile launch platforms, nuclear facilities, and most importantly, government targets, hundreds of Revolutionary Guard bases, police stations and Basij centers.
In addition, there are the tasks of preventing Iranian ballistic missile launches towards American bases, civilian targets, and infrastructure inside Israel.
She noted that “to achieve this goal, the Israeli Air Force will enter the campaign with more than 260 fighter jets, a number more than three times that of the US Air Force, which is stationed two or three hours’ flight away from all over northern, central and eastern Iran.”
The total number of American and Israeli fighter jets expected to participate in a possible war on Iran is 390, a number that is likely to increase according to Maariv’s estimates.
