Hamas leader Hussam Badran affirmed on Tuesday that the movement is open to all proposals without compromising its principles.
“The war must be stopped clearly and completely, and the occupation forces must withdraw from Gaza,” said Hossam Badran, a member of the movement’s political bureau.
He added, “Our right to resist the occupation is legitimate and in accordance with international law,” continuing, “We confronted a massive and criminal military arsenal with simple weapons used by our fighters.”
Earlier on Monday, the White House released US President Donald Trump’s “comprehensive” 20-point plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
According to the document’s title, “President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Conflict in Gaza,” the statement reads: “Gaza will be a zone free of extremism and terrorism, posing no threat to its neighbors.”
He continued, “Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of its residents, who have suffered enough.”
He added, “If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will end immediately. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed-upon line in preparation for the release of the hostages. During this period, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and the fighting lines will remain frozen until the conditions for a full, phased withdrawal are met.”
He added, “Within 72 hours of Israel’s public acceptance of this agreement, all hostages, alive and dead, will be returned.”
He added: “Once all hostages are released, Israel will release 250 prisoners serving life sentences, in addition to 1,700 Gaza residents arrested after October 7, 2023, including all women and children detained in this context. For every Israeli hostage whose remains Israel releases, it will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans.”
He concluded, “Once all hostages are returned, amnesty will be granted to Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence and disarmament. Hamas members wishing to leave Gaza will be provided safe passage to the receiving countries.”
