2025-09-14
The General Authority of Customs set, on Sunday, the date for the completion of the final phase of the ASYCUDA system, while stressing that this system contributes to the entry of goods in minutes. The Director General of the Authority, Thamer Qasim, told the official agency that “the automation procedures will limit corruption and manipulation and lead to facilitating customs procedures for traders,” noting that “these procedures will have a direct impact on facilitating the movement of trade and enhancing customs revenues, while at the same time reducing costs, effort and time for traders.”
He added, “After the ASYCUDA system completes its third phase, there will be a smooth flow of trade and a reduction in the time required to complete customs transactions. Instead of goods being held for four days in paperwork, they will be completed in minutes.”
Qassem also noted that “the completion date for the third and final phase will be the end of this September.”
