The leader of the Coordination Framework Forces, Aqil Al-Radini, confirmed today, Tuesday, that determining and distributing development projects starting next year will depend on the population census data that will begin tomorrow.
Al-Radini said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, “The population census was supposed to be conducted in 2013, but it was stopped due to political and other disputes. Conducting it tomorrow represents a very important opportunity to put Iraq on the right track with regard to development projects, determining the need for them, and distributing them.”
He added that “the talk about the existence of propaganda practices to confuse the census and push citizens not to participate in it, if true, is either due to ignorance or to the implementation of a foreign agenda that does not want good for Iraq,” noting that “the failure of the population census will mean a disaster for the country.”
The general population census in Iraq is scheduled to be conducted tomorrow and will continue until Thursday, while religious authorities stress the need to participate in it and provide the required information to the enumerators.
