Baghdad / Iraq News Network – The leader in the coordination framework, Aid Al-Hilali, revealed, on Monday, the developments in the race to head the new Iraqi government, while pointing out that there is competition that has emerged on the scene after the names of the Iraqi ambassador in London, Jaafar Al-Sadr, and National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji were presented. The second enjoys internal and external consensus and acceptability, as he described it. Al-Hilali said, in a press interview, that “Al-Araji enjoys the acceptability of the Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish component, and therefore he is a prominent competitor for the assignment.” He added: “But the compass currently remains directed towards Jaafar al-Sadr.” Which some news indicates his withdrawal, but we believe that he did not withdraw because the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, did not announce his candidacy for the position except by taking the green light from him, and accordingly, he is the first candidate to be commissioned to form the government, and after him comes Qassem al-Araji.He pointed out that “the head of the Victory Alliance, Haider al-Abadi, also entered the line of candidates, but there is one pitfall that may stand in the way of his assuming the position, which is the Kurdish rejection of him.”
