The former member of the House of Representatives, Ayoub Al-Rubaie, considered, on Thursday, that the political blocs may need 6 months to form the new government in light of the current atmosphere.
Al-Rubaie told the agency, “Information,” that “everyone is moving towards consensus in forming the government, although we still believe that the results of the elections bear significant negatives, and appeals and complaints are the best evidence.”
He added, “The formation of the next government is not easy in light of the complexities of the Iraqi political scene, but in all cases, the political forces will need from 4 to 6 months to succeed in forming a new government.”
He pointed out that “the next government has 4 important files before it, most notably the dollar file and ways to strengthen the Iraqi economy, which still depends directly on the sale of oil as a main resource for 90% of the revenues of the public treasury.”
A few days ago, the political forces began a marathon of alliances and meetings as part of their efforts to form a government, with the first session of the House of Representatives imminent.
