The former MP, Ayoub al-Rubaie, confirmed on Wednesday that the results of the general elections are now 70% clear, and he predicted that the process of forming a government would begin within the next two weeks. Speaking to Al-Maalomah, al
-Rubaie said, “The results of the general vote are now clear, with percentages ranging between 60 and 70%, especially since the commission is providing approximate percentages of what candidates received at polling stations minutes after the general voting process closed yesterday evening. Therefore, the picture is almost clear in many details.”
He added, “The commission’s announcement this evening will make the results clearer in terms of the votes and seats obtained by the lists at the governorate level.” He explained that “some lists received more votes than in the 2021 elections, while others saw a decline. However, the overall voter turnout was higher than in previous elections, reaching about 55%, according to the commission’s official data.”
Al-Rubaie added that “the process of forming a government will begin within the next two weeks,” noting that “it is too early to talk about the identity of the next prime minister, but the coordinating framework will be the main body concerned with this matter, and the upcoming negotiations and dialogues will reveal the features of the next government.”
