Former head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, Yossi Cohen, said on Tuesday that agents from the agency had toured Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility several times, without specifying the dates.
Regarding the American strike on Fordow in June 2025, Cohen added: “The bombing of the site by the Americans was the fulfillment of all my dreams,” according to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
Cohen also addressed Iran’s uranium enrichment program, saying: “Uranium enriched to 60% is still far from making a bomb.”
Cohen headed the Mossad between January 2016 and June 2021.
On June 22, 2025, US President Donald Trump announced US strikes on Iran’s three main nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
According to Trump’s previous statements, the goal is to destroy Iran’s ability to enrich uranium.
Iranian news agencies had previously denied that Mossad had carried out operations inside the country.
