Shafaq News/ The prices of “foreign and Iraqi” gold rose in the local markets in the capital, Baghdad, and in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, today, Saturday (February 1, 2025), to reach more than 600 dinars per mithqal in the local markets, in an increase that reached its highest level in the history of the country.
Shafaq News Agency correspondent said that gold prices in the wholesale markets on Al-Nahr Street in the capital, Baghdad, recorded this morning a selling price for one mithqal of 21 karat Gulf, Turkish and European gold of 595 thousand dinars, and a purchase price of 591 thousand dinars.
Our correspondent indicated that the selling price of one mithqal of 21-karat Iraqi gold was recorded at 565 thousand dinars, and the purchase price was 561 thousand.
As for gold prices in goldsmiths’ shops, the selling price of a mithqal of 21-karat Gulf gold ranges between 595,000 and 605,000 dinars, while the selling price of a mithqal of Iraqi gold ranges between 565,000 and 575,000 dinars.
As for gold prices in Erbil, they also recorded an increase, as 24-karat gold was sold for 672 thousand dinars, 22-karat gold was sold for 616 thousand dinars, 21-karat gold was sold for 588 thousand dinars, and 18-karat gold was sold for 504 thousand dinars.
