Bloomberg reported on Saturday that Iran launched a Fateh-110 ballistic missile toward Kuwait, which was intercepted and destroyed in the air by Kuwaiti air defense systems within the past 24 hours.
Bloomberg quoted sources as saying that missile debris fell inside Ali Al Salem Air Base in northwest Kuwait, injuring five Americans, including soldiers and military contractors.
The debris also caused serious damage to two MQ-9 Reaper drones, one of which was completely destroyed and the other suffered severe structural damage.
This development comes at a sensitive time, as US President Donald Trump considers a possible agreement to extend the fragile truce and ceasefire that has been in place between the United States and Iran since last April.
