Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan revealed that his recent visit to the UAE resulted in a time limit of 60 days, to set final plans regarding the development road that connects the large port of Al-Faw to the European market via Turkey, and allows all Gulf ports to stimulate the trade movement between East and West, stressing that The main partners in the project currently are Baghdad, Abu Dhabi and Ankara.
According to the Turkish Anatolia Agency, this came in press statements on board the plane during his return from an official visit he made to Egypt on Wednesday, which lasted for one day.
The highlights of Erdogan’s statements, according to Anadolu Agency, followed by Network 964:
The main actors in the “Development Road” project are Turkey, the UAE and Iraq, and the project will become a new “Silk Road” for the region and will serve regional peace.
I discussed the project during my visit a few days ago to the UAE, and I hope that the project will be completed in the optimal way.
UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed proposed setting a period of 60 days to complete planning studies and start the project, and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Oraloglu continues his meetings with his counterparts (in Iraq and the UAE), and we hope that these studies and plan will move to implementation.
The development path will enable the Gulf region and surrounding countries to access the European market via Turkey, which is a profitable project for all parties.
Regarding the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Party’s support for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in Sulaymaniyah, I say that the doors of tolerance are closed until the end when it comes to Turkey and its national security, and Turkey will do what it must about this matter.
We can take all forms of steps with our neighbors in the region provided that the establishment of a “terrorist” entity is not allowed on our borders.
Turkey is friendly to those who initiate friendship with it, and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yaşar Guler, and Intelligence Service Chief Ibrahim Kalin made successive visits to Iraq.
There are good developments between Turkey and Iraq in terms of taking steps, whether related to the central government in Baghdad or the administration of the Kurdistan region.
No one will respect the territorial integrity of Iraq and Syria like Turkey, and we have repeatedly warned them about the negative approach of Sulaymaniyah, and we told them that we see the emergence of some new entities, so do not give them the opportunity, otherwise you will remain alone.
The momentum regarding the fight against terrorism with the Erbil government is progressing positively, but unfortunately Sulaymaniyah and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Party continue to support the terrorist organization PKK, YPG and PYD despite our repeated warnings.
