Shafaq News/ Hamas announced on Saturday that it had submitted its response to US envoy Steve Witkoff’s proposal to end the Gaza war to the mediators.
Hamas said in a statement: “After conducting a round of national consultations, we submitted our response to US envoy Steve Witkoff’s latest proposal to our mediator brothers.”
She added, “Our response guarantees a permanent ceasefire, a comprehensive withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and the flow of aid,” noting, “As part of this agreement, ten living Israeli prisoners held by the resistance will be released, in addition to the handover of 18 bodies in exchange for an agreed-upon number of Palestinian prisoners.”

Israel announced its approval of Witkoff’s proposal. Hebrew media outlets revealed last Thursday that the new deal, proposed by US envoy Steve Witkoff and discussed in recent hours, includes the release of nine living hostages and 18 dead hostages, to be released in two phases over the course of a week .
In exchange for the release of the living and dead hostages, Israel will commit to a 60-day ceasefire, during which negotiations will be held to end the war. If no agreement is reached at the end of the negotiations, Israel may return to fighting or continue negotiations in exchange for the release of more hostages.
