BAGHDAD (Reuters) – After the Hawija and Qaim rule near the Syrian border, terrorist gangs have almost finished in Iraq militarily, the deputy head of the Popular Popular Authority Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes said on Sunday.
The engineer said in a press statement that “the da’is has almost finished and currently the Iraqi forces are currently engaged in northern areas such as Hawija, and we expect that these operations will end in the coming days that coincide with the month of Muharram.”
“The remaining areas are only in the western province of Anbar, and should be closed between 200 to 250 kilometers of the Iraqi-Syrian border, especially the area of Qaim corresponding to the Syrian region of Boukmal.”
“These areas on the Euphrates are important areas, and there are desert areas frequented by terrorists,” he said.
