Security expert, Qatari Al-Samarmad, announced on Tuesday the movement of 11 large American convoys loaded with military equipment from the Ain Al-Assad base, west of Anbar, towards the Al-Tanf base in Syria.
Al-Samarmad said in a statement to Al-Maalomah Agency: “The convoy moved from the Ain Al-Assad base in the Al-Baghdadi area in the Hit district as part of a surprise American plan aimed at evacuating most of its soldiers from the base.”
He added: “American forces imposed unprecedented security measures as the convoys moved through desert roads with complex terrain, arriving at the Al-Walid crossing towards the Al-Tanf base in Syria, with the movement coinciding with intensive flights by American aircraft to secure the movement of the convoys for fear of being targeted.”
He pointed out that “this movement falls within the repositioning of American forces in Syria, as the movement of convoys from the Ain Al-Assad base to the Syrian interior has been active during the current period.”
