Economic expert Mahmoud Dagher confirmed, today, Monday, that until today, the depletion and the smuggling of dollars abroad have not stopped, despite the process of raising the exchange rate that increased financial pressure on the private sector and the poor.
Dagher said in a statement to “Tigris”, “Reducing the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar and reducing its importance did not achieve any economic achievement. On the contrary, it increased financial pressure on the private sector and its workers . ”
He added that “vulnerable groups have been affected by the exchange rate, and despite these measures, the drain and sale of dollars abroad and their smuggling have not stopped . ”
Dagher noted that “the real income of the Iraqi citizen has decreased significantly by more than 20 percent and is prevented from achieving any achievement in favor of the private sector, which the Ministry of Finance is trying to justify raising the price to support it .
