The researcher and specialist in financial and banking affairs, Mustafa Hantoush, confirmed today, Saturday, that the stability of the labor market depends on the development of the private sector in Iraq.
Hantoush said in a statement to / Al-Maalouma / agency, that “the Iraqi state is able to pay the salaries of employees, as it exports more than three million and three hundred barrels of oil per day at prices exceeding $ 50 per barrel.”
He pointed out that “the problem is not in the salaries of employees, but rather lies in some challenges related to operational and investment expenditures, which reflects the need to address these issues seriously.”
He explained that “the internal debt has reached 83 trillion dinars, which requires opening the field to the private sector, to enable young people to obtain job opportunities.”
He added that “the stability of the labor market depends on the presence of a strong private sector, especially with the retirement of employees, as there will be no new appointments,” warning that “continuing the current situation may exacerbate the problem, which requires serious consideration of developing the private sector as a sustainable solution.”
