The economist Diaa Mohsen, on Monday, staked the end of the dollar crisis on the government taking several administrative measures, most notably preventing dealing in dollars in the sale and purchase of real estate, indicating that registering these contracts in dinars will greatly reduce the demand for dollars.
Mohsen said, in a statement to Al-Maalouma, that “the government’s measures to confront the role crisis were effective, and they led to a positive reflection in the decline in the exchange rate of the dollar.”
He added that “local transactions through the registration of contracts for the sale and purchase of vehicles and houses and their rental contracts are still dealing in dollars, and this is what prompts the citizen to search for buying the role of speculators in disguise, and thus will raise the exchange rate of the dollar,” calling “the government to issue instructions to prevent dealing and registration of sales, purchase and lease contracts.” In US dollars, with tougher penalties for dealers.
