A source in Anbar province revealed on Saturday that internal disputes within the Azm Alliance are escalating due to conflicts over the distribution of ministerial positions, coinciding with the completion of Ali Falih al-Zaidi’s government formation.
The source told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “MP and Azm Alliance leader Faisal al-Issawi threatened to withdraw from the alliance, citing the absence of genuine programs and serious projects to serve the community, as well as the alliance’s transformation into a marketplace for distributing positions among its leaders.” The source added that “the alliance is facing the risk of collapse, following the withdrawal of several of its leaders in recent days, attributing this to internal disputes and a lack of financial support after the arrest of the alliance’s head, Muthanna al-Samarrai.”
The source indicated that “the coming days may witness the withdrawal of more alliance leaders, given the ongoing disagreements regarding the alliance’s management and the distribution of positions.”
