Directing electricity to an Iraqi village that has not seen the light for 150 yearsShafaq News/ The director of Al-Baghdadi district, affiliated to Hit District, western Anbar Governorate, Sharhabil Al-Obaidi confirmed today, Tuesday, the direct extension of electric power poles and wires to deliver electricity service to the village of Sahel Houran, which is affiliated with the district, which has not seen the light since its establishment.

Al-Obaidi told Shafaq News Agency; “The local government in Anbar Governorate, during its recent visit to the district, directed it to work directly to connect the electric current to the village, and if the work is completed and the electric current is delivered to it, it will be the first time that the district has seen the light of day in more than 150 years.”

And Al-Obeidi said, “The local government has allocated an amount of 800 million dinars, which was deducted from the Heet district budget for the year 2021, to start work on delivering electricity to the village.”
