Member of the Parliamentary Services Committee, MP Baqir Al-Saadi, confirmed on Sunday that the pace of construction of the Grand Al-Faw Port has accelerated by 30%.
Al-Saadi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “There are three important characteristics of the large Al-Faw port project, which will increase the percentage of the Iraqi budget’s ability to receive goods by up to 25% and create great prospects in supporting the strategic development road project in its three dimensions by creating high flexibility in The flow of goods from various countries of the world.
He added, “The pace of construction of the large FAO project accelerated by more than 30% due to direct follow-up by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani in adhering to work schedules and resolving any urgent problems.”
He pointed out that “the project will add a qualitative leap to the Iraqi economy in terms of the possibility of bringing large financial revenues to the country’s treasury, in addition to its pivotal role in the path of development, which it will begin very soon after the completion of the plans.”
The large Al-Faw port is one of the strategic projects in Iraq, which will create high flexibility for the southern ports on the Gulf in receiving goods.
