The representative of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Moin Al-Kadhimi, confirmed today, Saturday, that the House of Representatives’ decision to extend its legislative term came with a political agreement to resolve two matters, namely approving the budget schedules and deciding to elect a new speaker of the House of Representatives, suggesting that these two matters will be resolved during the extension period.
Al-Kadhimi told Al-Maalouma, “The government will send the budget within the next few days so that it can be studied and finalized before voting on it.”
He added, “The issue of electing the Speaker of the House of Representatives has also been decided by the Sunni component, and the competition for the position will be between the two representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, the Azm candidate, and Salem Al-Issawi, the sovereignty candidate.”
