Representative Dakhil Rady confirmed, on Wednesday, that the federal general budget for the year 2023 will reach the House of Representatives after the legislative recess, indicating that all that is presented about the budget law is just speculation and there are no real numbers.
Dakhil said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, “The 2023 budget has not yet received us from the government, despite the extension of the legislative term.”
He added, “The House of Representatives will spend its legislative recess, and this is the government’s desire to take its time in preparing a budget that meets the aspirations of the Iraqi people.”
Dakhil pointed out that “it is hoped that the House of Representatives will go into a legislative recess that begins on the ninth of this month for a period of thirty days.”
Parliament will begin its legislative recess on the ninth of this month, according to the constitution, which means that the discussion of the next year’s budget will be delayed for a whole month without the budget reaching Parliament from the government.
