Deputy for others - Abdul Mahdi at stake and the masses in the boiling stateBAGHDAD: A deputy from the bloc of Sairon, warned the government of the “state of discontent and boiling” experienced by the masses in Iraq.
“The commander-in-chief of the armed forces on Friday took a tough stance against the flagrant encroachments on the Iraqi state and its military establishment,” Saad al-Halafi said in a statement received by the Euphrates News agency.
He added, “The honorable Iraqis worshiped with their pure blood the path of freedom and salvation from every attempt to dominate their necks,” noting that “those precious sacrifices are the boundaries of sovereignty after lost by corrupt.”
“The masses that elected members of the Council of Representatives and empowered them to choose a government that meets their aspirations are now in a state of discontent and boiling,” he said, warning against ignoring the voice of those who represent them and putting the country’s best interest above all else.
A member of the parliamentary security and defense committee called on the political blocs to “stand up to anyone who wants to weaken the state,” pointing out that “all participants in the political process have agreed to confine arms to the state.”
He added that “the parliamentary security and defense committee will stand up to anyone who wants to be unique to any decision that threatens the security and sovereignty of Iraq,” stressing “the need to limit the military and security decision to the commander of the armed forces only.”
“The commander-in-chief of the armed forces is at stake, demanding that he take a tough stance on flagrant encroachments on the state and its military establishment, preserve Iraq’s prestige and move towards building a strong state led by a solid military establishment.”
