US President Donald Trump arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, where he was greeted at the airport by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and US Ambassador Edgar Kagan.
The welcoming ceremony witnessed a remarkable celebratory moment, as Trump joined local dancers performing a welcoming folk dance. He appeared smiling as he shared moments of joy, captivating those present amidst the friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere.
He was also received by a delegation of Malaysian officials, along with the Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the US Mission to ASEAN, Joey Sakurai.
American flags were raised and traditional Malaysian music was played to welcome him, before Trump exchanged brief words with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
A Novosti correspondent reported that “Trump’s participation in the dance received warm applause from more than 2,500 journalists gathered in the press center dedicated to covering the summit.”
Meanwhile, Trump had previously announced that a declaration resolving the dispute between Thailand and Cambodia would be signed in his presence upon his arrival in Malaysia. He is also scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on issues of mutual interest.
