Coordination Framework: No postponement of the October elections…and participation will be higher than expected

Issam Shaker, a member of the Coordination Framework, confirmed on Wednesday that the date for the November elections is fixed and will not be changed, stressing that the turnout will exceed expectations.
Shaker told Al-Maalouma that “the false information being broadcast about the possibility of postponing the November elections is an attempt to confuse matters and is far from the facts,” stressing that “all forces within the framework, without exception, support holding the elections on the scheduled date.”
He added that “all preparations are underway at full speed, whether by the commission or the security committee responsible for securing the polling stations, and therefore there is no reason or justification for the postponement.”
He pointed out that “despite the negative messages being spread across social media in an attempt to discourage citizens from fulfilling their duties and rights, expectations indicate that the turnout will be higher than expected, because everyone wants to have a voice in the upcoming change movement.”
