The Ministry of Communications said on Thursday that landline telephone service through the fiber optic project will return soon.
The Director General of the General Company for Communications and Information Technology at the Ministry, Ali Yassin, stated in a statement received by / Al-Maalouma / Agency, that “the General Company for Communications and Information Technology has developed by providing the latest communications services, the first of which is extending the optical cable to all government departments and ministries in Baghdad and the governorates, which is the first structure for e-government.”
He added, “This project is the basis for digital transformation. Among the projects implemented by the company is the optical internet service, as the number of implemented lines has now reached more than 4 million lines, of which more than one million lines are marketed.”
He stressed that “we are currently and in the coming period moving towards the return of landline telephones through the FTTH fiber optic project.”
