Shafaq News/ A member of the leadership body of the Euphrates Movement, Ihab Ayyad, revealed today, Saturday, the period during which the Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, will be able to form his government.
Ayyad told Shafaq News Agency, “The Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, will be able to form his government within a period of (10 to 15) days only from the day he was appointed, especially with great political support for him from all blocs and parties.”
He added that “Al-Sudani began negotiations to form his government a few hours after his official assignment by the President of the Republic,” noting that “the negotiations are taking place in a positive atmosphere with all political blocs and parties.”
On Thursday, October 13, the Iraqi parliament succeeded in electing the new President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, in the second round of voting, after none of the candidates received the votes of two-thirds of the representatives, as stipulated in the Iraqi constitution. In the second round, Rashid won 162 votes, while his rival got The current president, Barham Salih, has 99 votes.
