Citizens staged a demonstration today, Tuesday, in front of Al-Warka Bank in Baghdad, demanding the return of their funds deposited there. Al-Sumaria TV reported, “A number of citizens staged demonstrations today in front of the entrance to Al-Warka Bank in central Baghdad, demanding the withdrawal of their funds deposited there.”
The reporter added, “The demonstrators demanded that the Central Bank intervene and return the funds to their owners,” noting that they threatened to organize an open-ended sit-in in front of the bank if their demands were not met. He also explained that “the demonstrators raised the slogan ‘No trust or credibility in Warka Bank.'”
