The US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on Wednesday that the Iranian oil tankers it targeted last week are part of a clandestine network worth billions of dollars, used to fund the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and its proxies.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that US forces destroyed 10 Iranian oil tankers last week, asserting that these tankers were linked to a network it described as secretive, which provides funding to the Revolutionary Guard.
In a related context, the US Central Command denied that any US Navy ships had been targeted by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, stressing that all attempts to target US ships had failed.
She added that the Revolutionary Guard’s “claims” regarding the targeting of two American destroyers in the Middle East were “completely false”.
The region is witnessing a mutual military escalation between the United States and Iran, which included the targeting of Iranian oil tankers by US forces, while the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the execution of missile strikes on the Azraq air base in Jordan, and said that the attack came in response to the American strikes.
