In the last 10 days the IMF met with the GOI and the CBI. They accepted everything presented to them to have approval to raise the value of their currency. This was the key to their shackles, it’s called Article 4. The IMF needed 85% of it’s members to raise their hands and say they allow Iraq to increase their exchange rate and the got it. On the other hand – the opposition is pretty much blaming Maliki for these events.

I was told they got the rate as well but it was not imparted to me. But I was told they did in fact get the new rate and the IMF approved that rate! 3-20-2013 Intel Guru Delta The CBI has now updated the M2 figures on the Arabic side up to January 2013 showing a change over 2 months’ time down to 4.58 and we are still missing 2 months of data family! So, you can see they are doing a REALLY good job of reducing the money supply especially, the hard cash liquidity on the street. This is almost a 1.5% drop over 2 months. That might not sound like much but it’s actually a lot of Dinar they have moved off the streets of Iraq. Then if you calculate or speculate from January to present….this tells us also that we are again VERY CLOSE to see a rate change! Read more…

And postponed for technical reasons” First, the Parliamentary Committee is saying that it has no object to the project of deleting the large notes (three zeros). This is not new. It is also not saying that they are going to act on it until they get the “green light” from Maliki (who is still the holdup). Second, they refer clearly to “dual both currencies” which means that both the current IQD and the new dinar currency will co-exist for at least some period of time. Again, this is not new. In fact the Parliamentary Committee has said that they will not begin removing the large denom notes until 2014. This would suggest, then, that the change to a new currency would occur sometime before 2014, right? Read more…

There will BE ONLY ONE RATE, NO TIERS!!!!!!!; at which point, depending upon regulations, each bank will institute the buy/sell spreads. We have plenty to be grateful for, despite the countless setback we’ve endured. But even the most skeptical can see that Iraq’s come along way and the possibilities are endless. The 3 sects unfortunately are tied together and as they jockey for position one thing has become clear. The people have a voice in their government. The one thing about democracy that stands out is that the people of Iraq have effectively learned to demonstrate and protest. This is a primary tool of democracy. It mostly does not exist in totalitarian systems because the governments can’t tolerate this tool. Either the people protesting are slaughtered or there is a complete rebellion as in Syria. The shear fact that tool is being used, gives me great hope that their is a future for Iraq’s fledgling democracy. Read more…

They have talked about what rates they are going to hit and what stages they are going to do it. Do we know exactly how they are going to ladder out the currency we have and at what rate. No, we don’t. We are on the road to be able to profit from this. Nothing but good news coming out of Iraq. It’s all there, it’s all public information, you just have to go through all this information and recognize what they did and what they are doing.
