The head of the Kurdistan region, outgoing Massoud Barzani, Saturday, that talk about the alternative referendum scheduled for September 25 next “too late”, and expressed readiness to hold “serious” after the referendum.
Kurdish media quoted Barzani during his meeting with figures from the Nineveh Plain in Dohuk that “the referendum is a means, not an objective. We have said that if there is a better alternative, then it is easy.”
“After the referendum we are ready to hold serious meetings,” he said. “We can move from a failed partnership to a good neighbor. I do not understand the reason for these threats from inside and outside, and we have not committed any crime.”
