The public broadcasting service, the United States, published, Wednesday, satellite images showing what it said was the scale of the damage to the Assad base in Anbar Province, which includes Americans after the Iranian attack at dawn today.

Today, at dawn, Iranian ballistic missiles targeted the base of Al-Asad, in which American forces are located, in Anbar province, in western Iraq, and the American base in the city of Arbil, in the north of the country, in revenge for the assassination of the leader of the Iranian Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani.

Earlier today, Wednesday, the Security Media Cell issued a statement regarding the Iranian bombing of Ain al-Assad base, in Anbar Governorate, and Erbil.

And the cell said, in a statement, received (Baghdad today), that “Iraq was exposed from 0145 to 0215 dawn on January 8, 2020, by shelling with 22 missiles.”

She explained: “17 of them landed on the Ain al-Assad airbase, including two that did not explode in the Hitan area, west of the city of Heet,” adding “and 5 rockets to the city of Erbil.”

She noted that all the missiles “landed at the headquarters of the coalition,” noting that “no casualties were recorded among the Iraqi forces.”

After Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, announced on Wednesday (January 8, 2019) that Tehran’s response to the assassination of the Quds Force Commander with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, General Qassem Soleimani, had ended, the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, described the missile attack as “successful.”
