demanded the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, on Monday, the US president , Donald Trump, to reconsider the decision to prevent the entry of Iraqis into the United States, describing the decision as “wrong.”
He said the ministry ‘s spokesman Ahmad Jamal, in a statement, said that his ministry “expressed regret and surprise” of the US president ‘s decision to restrict the entry procedures included Iraqi nationality is a campaign of the United States.
He added that “it is very unfortunate that this decision issued against an ally linked to a strategic partnership with the United States and that coincides with the victories achieved by our fighters with the support of the international coalition on gangs (Daesh) terrorist in the battle to liberate the city of Mosul (north of the country).”
” We believe that it is essential that the US administration to reconsider this wrong decision.”
He stressed the spokesman of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry spokesman on the existence of a genuine desire of his country to strengthen and develop the strategic partnership with the United States and increased cooperation in the fight against terrorism and economic sphere and all that serves the interests of the two countries.
In a related context, the voice of the Iraqi parliament on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution (non – binding for the government) to deal similarly with the United States over its decision to prevent Iraqis from entering their territory.
A source in the Information Service of the Parliament, of Anatolia , preferring anonymity, that the Committee on Foreign Relations of the House of Representatives presented a paper for a vote at today ‘s meeting, which included a provision on reciprocity with the United States, issued a decision blocking the entry of the Americans to Iraq.
Also included in the recommendations, which were voted on unanimously, the United Nations and international organizations claim the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take a decision in this regard, and to address the US Congress to review the decision of the President Trump.
The signed Trump, last Friday, an executive order to suspend allow the refugees to enter the United States for 4 months, and prohibited from entering the country for 90 days to the citizens of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen.
Since the signing of the resolution, Trump faces local and Western and Arab criticism large, amid accusations him to adopt racist policies, especially toward the Arabs and Muslims.
Trump considered that the move “will help” to protect the citizens of his country from terrorist attacks, and pointed out that his administration needs time to implement more stringent checks for refugees and immigrants and visitors.
